A Short Story Of Ruby: A Boston City Girl

It was a warm summer day, but coming up on fall. Ruby, a Boston city girl that had a coming up birthday was out at a car dealership looking for a car. "All I wish for my birthday is a new car!" She beamed at her parents. All year, she's been hyped for the day she gets her car, and she has really been wanting a new, shiny, red Chevy Equinox. She was also out going to get food for Rowdy, her fuzzy, midnight black dog, that was very large. Ruby was wearing her favorite white dress that had lace borders on the top and bottom, but she got black dog hair all over it from playing with Rowdy. Ruby was thinking she needs to take her dress to the dry cleaners, so she can wear it on her sixteenth birthday! The next morning, Ruby woke up and noticed that it was so quiet. Glitters, bragged, “I am going to make you a cake, but you have to go get flour for it honey.” Ruby was out at the store getting flour for her mother, meanwhile Mrs. Glitters started to cook dinner because she was about to die of starvation, but Mrs. Glitters went off to use the restroom and while she was doing that she didn’t know she had caused a grease fire. Mr. Glitters was getting hungry so he decided to go into the kitchen and check on his wife, but when he got in there he was frightened. He saw blazes that had spread through the building, he grudgingly tried to open the door but it was engulfed in flames too much. The next few minutes, Mr. and Mrs. Glitters were trying to find a way out. Finally, they opened the door with two dish towels on their hands. Both of them ran down the stairs, but got stuck in the lobby with no other people. While all that was happening Ruby still didn’t even know any of it was happening, she was just trying to find the best flour to get for her mother.
