In the short story, “Girl” written by Jamaica Kincaid, the delivery of the story reflects a mother, with her own past experiences and control of being a female in her time and tradition, gives guidance to her daughter in an altered world, to berate her daughter’s current ways and modern day outlook on society and its culture.
