A Short Story: Iron Helm And The Dragon

The princess laid unconscious on the hard cavern floor. Her dragon also laid beside her with his face locked into a snarl, his fists clenched. At the mouth of the cave, rain drizzled down, slowly becoming lighter.

Iron Helm heaved a sigh of exhausted relief. Carrying an Alicorn plus a baby dragon out of Ponyville into the mountain side was not part of his plan. The dragon would have to be a necessary setback. The dragon had seen too much.

His earth pony muscles ached from the large load he had carried. His recently acquired burn on his shoulder spiked with pain. Iron Helm fought to ignore it. There was less than two hours before the sedated princess would regain consciousness, so Iron Helm had to work quick.

He was still uncomfortably close to Ponyville. Any distance he could gain while the princess was unconscious would be for the best. He made the awkward struggle of slinging the Princess and the dragon onto his back. His muscles ached in complaint but he ignored them. He then made his way out the mouth of the cave.
