She figured out the discontentment on my face. With a palliative smile, mom patted on my back and said,” It 's ok.” We started walking in search of room#102. As we crossed the registration hall, the way split to two forming a three-way junction. We took a right. The building is in the shape of a circle with a small garden in the center and the actual building on the rim. I recollected the pictures from the website that it had a fountain in the center. It might have been even pretty if the water in the fountain was running. As it was my first-time visit to Ashreys hospital, I started running my eyes over number plate on each passing door. Room# was 100 dermatology. Room# 101 was a dentist. Room # 102 was general medicine, which we need to go. There were approximately 10-12 people waiting in the waiting room allotted for room 102. An attendant was collecting forms from the people. As I reached towards him, he stretched his arm to me and asked,” Appointment confirmation form?.” I looked at him with uncertainty. I did not know which one of the documents was Appointment confirmation form. The attendant checked the two forms from my hand and took one of them. He told us to wait until he calls us. It was 10:00

Shadowing a variety of hospitalists gave me the opportunity to observe the broad spectrum of patient care. I witnessed firsthand the anguish and pain associated with the loss of a patient. I learned that while many diagnoses may be identical, no two patients are the same. Additionally I was introduced to an aspect of patient care that often remains unmentioned; the task of updating and completing patients’ medical records which may be a tedious, yet extremely vital aspect of patient care. I was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas; my environment shaped me to become someone responsible, an over achiever, and a determined young man. The people who had the biggest impact on me is the woman who gave me life, my father, and my community. My mother was already there for me even before I stared walking, she was there to comfort me when I fell on my knees. She was my first teacher, the one who taught me morals and set up my standards; whenever we had a family party and all of our thirty members were together, she will make me introduce and address myself to every single one and if ever forgot to say hi to someone she will just give me a look to make realize my mistake, and I will immediately go on to that person and say sorry for…
