A Series Of Unfortunate Events: A Bad Beginning

Improved Essays
The book A Series of Unfortunate Events: A Bad Beginning is a perfect book for all ages. There are 13 books in the series and each one has something different waiting to happen. In each book something bad happens to the children and then they have to go somewhere else and live with someone else, too. The books are great for all ages, but ages 11-14 would enjoy the book a bit more because it may make more sense to them. Some of the wording they use may also be confusing to kids under the age 11 because the book was written a while ago when they used different grammar then today.
This series is very interesting but I think that they drag on from book to book. In each book something bad happens and it gets a little boring after about three books.

First, I really liked how the plot progressed. I think that it went at a very good pace and was very smooth throughout the entire story. Also, the novel was very easy to read and not very complicated to figure out because, it was pretty close to the way we speak today. I really enjoyed how it made it seem that so many things could happen, like if burning the books was a good thing or if it was bad in general. Or if they should just burn the books not the house.…

The book does a great job of propelling into the main plot right away while still developing each character. By the time each character dies, you don’t identify them as just a fictional character, but as a person that you have a bond with. Because of this, when somebody dies (which is quite often) it feels as if a close friend of yours has passed in real life. This makes the book hard to read while making it intense at the same time. I like the book very much because it doesn’t hold back the truth.…

The novel Shatter Me written by Tahereh Mafi is foremost one of the best books that I have ever read in my existence. This amazing novel was really unpredictable as everything happened like a rollercoaster ride. However, it did have some drops throughout the book that I did not find amusing. The three main things that I personally adored about this novel was the idea, characters, and writing style. I really liked the idea of this novel as it was really eventful.…

The book and movie of The Great Gatsby were both pretty good but each had some differences. Some examples; In the book Nick meets Tom at his door and in the movie, Nick meets Tom at the dock and they are driven to Tom’s house. In the book, Gatsby has a relationship with a self-made millionaire, Dan Cody and in the movie this character is completely left out. Also, in the book the man who Nick refers to as “Owl Eyes” who he sees at one of Gatsby’s parties. He later drives his car into a ditch and in the movie, “Owl Eyes” doesn’t appear or is mentioned once.…
