“Peace had deserted Devon.” (Knowles 72) At Devon's School summer session during the 1940’s, A Separate Peace, first took place. Different events that occur in a person’s life can and will have affect on them for the rest of their life. The event could leave a terrifying or exciting impact on them. The duration of time spent at Devon the boys were apart of many events that foreshadowed later events in the novel.The events that took place made the characters have multifariously vagaries throughout the experience.
