Romney’s speech is rhetorically effective to the greater extent. He uses both logical and emotional rhetorical devices to fulfill the effectiveness of his speech on the audience. Logic does help since most voters out there don’t know what they are doing and just vote for whoever seems like they have the best plan. It also appeals to the smart people who watch the news and indulge this time of year, after all everyone just wants a better country. Emotional appeal does indeed tug at the heart strings and can do a better job convincing. It is a brain versus the heart situation when voting.
Romney’s Speech does appeal to logic. Romney begins his speech with a comparison to former president Reagan, “In 1964, days before the presidential election

Romney's party is a Republican and Republicans refer to reagan as a hero of conservatism. He is seen as a hero because he beat the soviets and the shows a lot considering we are all anti communists here in America. Communism is not seen as a good thing in America. Romney tells the facts of what Donald Trump does, “Let me put it plainly, if we Republicans choose Donald Trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished”(Romney1). Romney flat out says that if we want to make America great again then we should, by not voting for Trump. Romney is pushing his ideals because Donald Trump is not the right choice. Trump won’t help America but he will hurt it, “His proposed 35% tariff-like penalties would instigate a trade war that would raise prices for consumers, kill export jobs, and lead entrepreneurs and businesses to flee …show more content…

One of these men should be our nominee” (Romney 2). Romney is pushing for one of the nominees the party backs. Furthermore, romney brings a familiar case that has not been unnoticed in America recently, the group ISIS and their acts and hows trump is dealing with this, Romney strongly disagrees with trump saying that, "Let me turn to national security and the safety of our homes and loved ones. Trump's bombast is already alarming our allies and fueling the enmity of our enemies. Insulting all Muslims will keep many of them from fully engaging with us in the urgent fight against ISIS. And for what purpose? Muslim terrorists would only have to lie about their religion to enter the country”(Romney 2). Romney brought up the possible fact of muslim terrorist. Trump uses the term “muslim terrorists” which is rude and uncalled for. Because of a group of horrid people in the religion, according to Trump all Muslims are terrorists. Romney also finds ways to bash Trump for what he says and does. “Donald Trump tells us that he is very, very smart. I'm afraid that when it comes to foreign policy he is very, very not smart”(Romney 2). Romney claims that, “I am far

As a Republican candidate running for president, Trump thinks the immigrants are rapists, criminals, and drug dealers. Trump is bias towards the immigrants because he anticipates that the immigrants commit the majority of the crime and violence in America. Although I am a U.S. citizen, my parents came from a different country. Consequently, Trump 's plan will deport my family, and my friends, and possibly your family and friends too.…
