This genre can really be about anything, so long as something is being advertised. Specifically, the post is a job advertisement. The text is representative of this genre because it is any good example of what a typical job ad should include. It has all the right information that a post elaborating on a job opening should have in order to properly inform the potential hire. The Bettertruck ad contains information about the company, the job itself, including typical pay, the job location, and benefits as to why you should apply. Though a job ad can be for any job, so long as the post contains all information that it should, it can be an example of what any job ad should contain. The advertisement is very detailed in all aspects of the job. Again, looking at figure 1, one can see how in depth the description of the job goes. To begin with, the ad gives some background into the company that the new employee would be working for. It adds to the jobs credibility when the job searcher reads, “Bettertruck has been in the trucking business for 25 years, and has been recognized by the American Trucking Association as one of the safest and best companies to work for” (“How to Write Job Ads”). Following the description of the position itself and typical pay and healthcare benefits, the post paints an appealing picture when it describes the location of the job. This description of the local hobbies, beauty, school system, affordable housing, and music scene is very influential in making potential employees look forward to possibly moving to a different place for a new job. Lastly, the ad concludes with a bullet point summary list of all the great reasons to apply for the job. All of this evidence compiles into a very appealing job
