A Rhetorical Analysis Of Flashers

The product I chose to analyze is Flashers. They are a company that specializes in making bacon sandwiches. The ad I chose was from an online source (adsoftheworld.com.) The ad itself was created by a Mr. Ogilvy and I could not find a date a publication. The ad itself has in big black and red letters the words “the best reason to run since your health” and underneath it is a cell phone with a picture of a pig on it. Underneath the phone is a smaller wording that says “1. Run of hide the shape of a pig 2. Show us on any running or biking app 3. Get %30 off your sandwich,” and at the very bottom is the logo for Flashers and the words “North Americas only bacon sandwich shop.” I believe this add is out to target anyone who loves custom sandwiches and bacon in the Northern part of America. This ad uses logos and pathos to persuade the reader to buy their product. The first strategy mentioned above used by Flashers involves logos. They use big bold red and black letters to capture the attention of people and a smart pitch to draw you further into the ad. They mention how it’s the best reason to run since your health which will get people curious about what is being said. Then after your reading you see where they …show more content…
They use curiosity to grab people’s attention. When you first look at the ad you don’t know what it’s about so naturally you will want to investigate. This investigation leads you to the funny picture of the pig, which doesn’t make sense because you thought they were talking about health at first. As you read further because you want to know what the add is about, you see where they start talking about food and start to piece the ad together. This brings some satisfaction because you had a mystery to solve and now you’re getting close to that so it also starts to bring some joy to you. These tricks are meant to make people curious and want to read the ad and meant to be of enjoyment to the reader so it seems
