These ideals leaves African American people in a hard place and this also divides African American people. Some African American people have accepted these images such as the middle class. Usually the poor African Americans still want to be seen as being authentic so they reject these ideals. These cause extreme fear in the white since it goes against what they are trying to set up. They really think these types of people really belong in a place where their aggressiveness can be contained such as a prison. African Americans are trying to develop themselves but the just end up entertain they white people since they put body before mind. Their arguments that they author is making are very true because if you look at the top field they are filled with whites. When African American try to climb to that level not only may then be discriminated against by the white people, there are also going to be harassed by the own people for following the norms and trying to make things better for themselves.
