Agent Zed gives his speech about all the testing they will go through, along with his explanation of why they are all there. His explanation is vague. Stating “we are looking for the best of the best”. He does not explain why they want the best of the best.

First, he challenged why they were there. He knew there had to be more to the situation. He was skeptical, even though he knew he was unpopular in his views of the situation, which was clearly demonstrated by the other men in their facial expressions. Next J continues to show the ability to demonstrate critical thinking by analyzing the room and changing the paradigm of his situation by moving the coffee table closer to take the test. He did not stick to an assumed view by thinking he had to take the test in that chair with no table. My only question here is why he didn’t use the in-table sitting next to him. To me that would have been the more logical choice or go sit in the floor at the coffee table, so not to disturb everyone else. Just a thought. Plus, you would think the soon to be, Agent J, would also question why am I the only person here not in the military.
In this clip you have people put into a situation with a lot of unknowns. They want the best of the best, but for what purpose? Agent J actively questioning a situation for a greater understanding of how it impacts him is needed to make decisions, because maybe he doesn’t want to be one of their “best of the best”. The facts of the situation could change his and the rest of the groups’ point of view or validate it. In this particular instance I’m having a hard time thinking of a con, especially being in such an unusual circumstance. The more you know the better off you are, even if you don’t like the
