Everywhere you go in the United States of America, and all over the World, you will see one or another means of advertisement. There are many ways business owners advertise their products, ranging from business cards, hand bill, outdoor advertisement, placing bills at the apartment doors, television, radio to the social media. No matter the type of advertisement, the aim or goal is to promote more sales which will in turn boost the growth of the organization.
McDonald’s is one of the rapid growing fast food restaurant companies, most especially in America and the United Kingdom. One of their resent adverts on You-tube is the McDonald’s UK Christmas Advert 2016, introducing Juliette the doll. This is a very interesting advert, trying to introduce or increase the spirit of Christmas, as the most wonderful time of the year.
The author uses the logos and pathos rhetorical appeals in this advert, for example at the beginning of the advert, the Jeffery’s Toy owner said to the doll “maybe this year”. The phase does not have any connection at the beginning, but in the end

It is targeted at diverse of people, young and old, different levels of relationships as seen in the adverts. The topic was quite followed with the decorations, the Christmas trees, ornaments, lights and snow fall. This is to show it is Christmas time when people are happy, come around to celebrate, makes new friends and enjoy good times, as displayed at the end of the advert.
The purpose is to inform the audience that they can get more toys for their children, organize a get-together, set up a meeting or make a party order for either Christmas or end of the year party at McDonald’s. Also that McDonalds is a welcoming place at Christmas time, it is open to anyone and gives happiness and joy. It is to promote patronage in all of their, outlet everywhere this advert is been watched or
