Based on several factors including: students awareness, overcrowded curriculum, traditional medical education system, and busy hospital rotations in clinical years and internship are associated with poor level og knowledge in Urology specialty field².
In an initiative to standardize the urology curriculum by American Urological Association (AUA) a cross sectional survey was distributed to stakeholders, which included residency program directors from different medical disciplines as well as graduating medical students. Based on this study, an essential, evidence-based urology curriculum for all medical students was developed by the AUA and it is now available to all students³.
In 2013, Binsaleh et al published an article showiing that the knowledge of medical school graduates toward urology specialty is insufficient⁴. The limitation of this study was inclusion of one medical school only.
