Research Question: Genetically modified food, what do you need to know?
Freedman, David H. "The Truth about Genetically Modified Food." Scientific American. N.p., 08 Aug. 2013. Web. 19 Oct. 2016. Freedman, a professor at University of California, argues that genetically modified crops say the technology is the only way to feed a warming, increasingly populous world. Critics say we tamper with nature at our peril. Who is right?
Freedman’s assertion is that genetically modified foods are good when it comes to feeding a big population but in the long run they can have consequences. This source states “the vast majority of of research on genetically modified(GM) crops suggests that they are safe to eat and that they have the potential to feed millions of people worldwide who currently go hungry” (1). This source is credible because he uses information that is accurate and factual. Freedman pivots his argument around some biologist studies about how these types of foods are made and what goes into them. He talks about how naïve science goes into the creation of these genetically modified foods, this type of science brings up the big question are these foods safe for consumption. These arguments can help my A4 because I plan on talking about the benefits of genetically modified and the side affects of genetically modified foods. I will use this article for the majority of my A4 because the article has both sides of my articles and it has a lot of information to back…
