Pros And Cons Of Male Birth Control

Recent advances in the research on male contraceptives has shown a great possibility of a new contraceptive being available within the next five years. As of right now there are only three methods of male birth control. Those three methods are condoms, a vasectomy, and abstinence. As many already know, the vasectomy is an irreversible procedure that is only encouraged if you do not want any kids or if you are done having kids. This means men in their late thirties will be the ones using this method. Abstinence is restraining yourself form performing any sexual activity and is the only form that is 100% effective. These men filled out a survey to explain their interest and many of them say their partners have bad side effects or experience from their birth control so they are willing to take on the responsibility. The others want more control of their sexual encounters and want to avoid that “oops”. So far there have not been any side effects shown for this product, but as previously stated there has not been any human trial. Just like any other product there are the pros and cons that come along. One huge concern is that it will cause men to stop wearing condoms causing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases to become more common, but just like when any other form of birth control came out the condoms never went away. They will always play a big role in protecting yourself from sexually transmitted diseases when it comes to having a sexual encounter with someone you do not know so well or even someone you do know. A huge upside to this is that a women no longer carry all the responsibility. So many men use the excuse of condoms taking away all the feeling so they don’t have to use one, but get upset when their partner comes out pregnant. This will solve that problem because now they can be more responsible and take control over the situation by keeping themselves protected. This is a great thing for men to take advantage of, especially those who complain when they get asked to put on a condom. Not only is it a great product for men to take advantage of, but also for women. Almost all female birth control come with many side effects like weight gain, hormone imbalance, irregular bleeding and so much more. This gives women a chance to get their body back to normal and let the man have the responsibility for awhile.
