The Importance Of Money I Spent On Food In School

The behavior I would like to change is the amount money I spent on food while I am school or rather my spending habits related to purchasing food. Each semester I spend at least $450 to $500, which is excessive for my liking. Moreover, I feel it is an unnecessary drain and I plan to reduce the expense and save money. This expense can be contributed to many different reasons. One of the main reason is due to the fact I leave home without eating. This is due to the fact that I commute to and from school for about an hour and a half up to 2 hours each trip depending on traffic. But me being tired makes me forgetful and preoccupied with what I need for school. I think this will help show me the damages of my impulsive spending. Another solution is to completely replace juice and soda I buy with water from a water fountain. It is free and completely healthy. I need to compile a list of foods that are $4.00 and under including the taxes and commit to only eating those foods. To be successful I need to reevaluate bringing food to school by planning and packing meals that do not need to be refrigerated and light to carry: perhaps chips, squeezable applesauce, a sandwich without mayonnaise, fruit snacks or dried fruit. To do this I would need to on Sunday prepare the week work of lunches and pack one in my backpack. Lastly, I feel to be successful I need to stay committed, stay away from temptation, and do not be

Additionally, the management of the institutions needs to contract suppliers of the healthy foods to enable them to supply the institutions at a relatively lower price. Discussion The study addresses two questions: How do college students obtain the meals they are eating? Why are they consuming this food? According to my results, I found that food being accessible, cheap, and a healthy option factors heavily into the way a college student plans their diet. College students are aware that they should be eating healthy, however they have little time and money that cannot be wasted towards food, so they look for meals that help them save on both, all while still being a somewhat healthy choice.…

The issue of governmental involvement in regulating school lunches is divided between opponents and supporters. The argument against the government’s involvement in promoting healthier lunches is largely due to the potential significant increase in cost of funding the programs and the assumption that changing the menu in favor of healthier foods will lead to more wasted food. However, because malnutrition is a major issue affecting many people in poverty and it can have devastating effects on an individual’s development, the government should regulate all food served by school cafeterias in favor of nutritious and healthy meals. While providing nutritional food may cost more, it will provide students from impoverish families guaranteed free, nutritious meal five days out of the week as well as aid the students to form a set of guidelines that can help them prevent obesity in the future. Making meals more nutritious by providing fresh fruits and vegetables rather than canned goods will drive up the prices of school lunches (Newman, 2013) which will put unneeded strain on low income families in addition to decreasing the number of participants ordering school lunches.…

Everyone has time to be healthy Freshman 15 is an expression used to describe an arbitrary amount of weight students put on in their first year of post secondary studies, usually due to unhealthy eating and poor exercise habits. Students say they struggle finding a balance between work, leisure, and maintaining healthy habits, leading to a lack of exercise, and poor nutrition. These complaints are clearly caused by a lack of intrinsic motivation and a growing status quo of complacency, rather than actual time constraints. Despite the vast number of home workouts that one can complete in under ten minutes, students will still excuse themselves from any form of physical activity, in favour of inactive alternatives. The problem is further pushed…
