Yes, people who are in positive energy balance are taking in calories than they let out. BUT, it is not always undesirable.
1. Woman who are pregnant need a positive energy balance to support the growing baby inside of them.
2. In their 2nd and 3rd trimester, pregnant women need about an extra 350-450 kcalories per day. As a result this would result in an positive energy balance. But, these women need the extra calories, especially moms who want to breastfeed. A malnourished pregnant woman with inadequate weight gain leads to a non-healthy baby
3. A food plan for pregnant mothers should include the following
• Calcium: 2-3 servings
• Meat: 2 servings
• Vegetable: 4 sevings
• Fruit: 3 servings
• Bread, cereal, rice, pasta group: 9

One of the signs of dehydration is thirst. So, athletes that use thirst as a sign to rehydrate are not getting an adequate amount of fluid into their system.
2. If athletes wait and drink only while they are thirsty than it will take twice as long, about 48 hours, to recharge their body with the proper amount of fluids.
3. A more reliable indicator of an athletes need to replace fluid is their weight before and after they workout.
4. Studies have shown that athletes should lose no more than two percent of their body weight while exercising to avoid dehydration.
5. If at all possible, athletes should try and calculate two percent of their body weight and then figure out how to translate it into how much fluid they should drink.
6. Most of their fluids replenishment will take place after the athlete has finished exercising. Thus, the athlete needs to remember to adequately drink enough after exercising.
7. If weight is unable to be managed, urine color is another reliable indicator.
8. If urine color is as yellow as lemonade than athletes hydration status is adequate.
9. Even if not thirsty, twenty-dour hours before an event, athletes should consume drinks like water and Gatorade freely. They should not use thirst as an
