Before their arrest, both Myran and Andrew saw themselves as ‘bad’ people who committed significant wrongdoings. Andrew stated that he was an individual who did not get along well with his family. His brother would try to find out what he was up to and he resented his brother for being nosy. However, during Andrew’s time in prison, he realised that his brother had been looking out for him. Furthermore, before his arrest, Andrew was a drug user and therefore, knew what it would be like walking out on the streets without being fully conscious. Therefore, during his time in prison, Andrew tried to help the other prisoners by pulling them out of trouble and drugs by counselling them. He admitted and apologised for his actions and said his situation could have been worse, and is thankful that he is able to wake up every day and do things he loves such as studying. Andrew says by doing this, it makes him want to a better person today and not tomorrow, and to live a good life that he is happy with despite his crimes.
