Reflection On Intermediate Leadership Experience

“Outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost the self-esteem of their personnel. If people believe in themselves, it 's amazing what they can accomplish (Sam Walton)”. I believe leader is not the one who accomplishes the works; it is the followers who actually get the work done. In next three to five years, I like to use my knowledge from Intermediate Leadership Experience to improve my influence on my subordinates. In this vision plan, I like to discuss a lesson each module in Intermediate Leadership Experience and how I that can improve my leadership effectiveness over the next three to five years. This will impact on how I want others to perceive me as a leader.

Course 15 states that Military ethics deal specifically with those values, and expected rules of the profession that are appropriate to actions taken within the military environment. I am not staying in the Air Force all my life but ethics is something I will keep all my life. I think when leader is leading a shop in an ethical manner, airman’s will follow in those footsteps. Having a good military ethics can increases productivity and overall shop morale. When airmen complete work in a way that is based on honesty and integrity, the whole organization benefits. It leads to making effective decisions which influence and motivate everyone in the unit. In next three to five years, I like to improve my negotiation style and get what is best for my unit. While working in the Maintenance Operations Center (MOC), negotiating is part of my job. Some of the problems might be small but they have a large effect on the unit. Course 15 states that negotiation is a process involving two or more people or groups who have a degree of difference in positions, interests, goals, values, or beliefs and who are striving to reach agreement on issues or courses of action.
