A Real World Hero

Not all heroes wear capes. Some heroes wear stethoscopes or even normal clothes. Real-world heroes blend in with normal people just like you and me. The thing that separates us is their call to duty and their brave instincts to help others. It takes hard work and dedication to become a real hero. Not everyone has what it takes, but those that do sure do deliver. Gender, age, and even race doesn't determine your qualification to become a real-world hero.

The first American Woman doctor was Elizabeth Blackwell. Elizabeth went to a school full of men who simply didn't want her there. Students in the university thought that she shouldn't be able to get such a good education and become a successful doctor because of her gender. She went on to graduate and open a clinic in New York so that she could aid the less fortunate. The second article states, "She worked hard for the things she wanted to do. Her work encouraged other women to become doctors." You must always work hard to achieve greatness in life. You cannot be lazy your entire life and then expect to live a long prosperous life full of great success. If you ask any successful person, they will tell you that they worked very hard for their earned riches. Doctors, inventors, and even artists work hard for their livings. They will tell you that they did not just breeze through life and ten just become successful and gain a lot of money by accident. With the requires hard work and dedication to become successful, you can surely become a leader or a hero in the process. If people admire your hard work they can spread the word that you are an admirable person. You could have thousands upon thousands of people looking up to you. Others might even want to be you. Without people's respect, you are an unreliable source of help. Harriet Tubman was respected because of her great initiative to help all of the slave's escape from their slave holders. Elizabeth Blackwell gained respect because of her outside thinking. She was the first woman to go to school and become a successful doctor. How many other women do you know who can say that they became the first successful woman doctor? Elizabeth also helped the less fortunate. Both of these women risked their credibility to help others in need. Harriet risked her life to help her fellow slaves' escape. Although Elizabeth did not risk her life, she did risk her safety. Men who went to school with her could have hurt her. These two women both became heroes by helping people who were less fortunate than themselves. These women did not care about where any of these people came from they just wanted to help them and better their lives. People whom they helped were able to live longer, better lives than they would have if these two women never came into their lives. Perhaps we could all learn a lesson or two from these two incredible
