In order to bring out the clear picture of love and the surrounding he meticulously describes every detail. The persona is not interested in the magnificence of “the yellow half-moon large and low”. In the poem, the persona is more interested in bypassing such elements with the sole intention of getting to the beach. The focus with which the persona has is given is with a strong purpose. Reading the poem one cannot help but think the same way as the persona. A writer has given the reader a chance to visualize the movement from the beach to the fields and to the farm. The eagerness with which he builds the poem as the reader is also reading develops the imagery. All one can wait for while reading is that they get to the lovers home. As much as the poem is a love poem the poet used styles that would best fit clear painting of the picture. The meaning would be something much deeper than is represented. The first instance of symbolism is captured in the aspect of time. The aspect of waiting in this instance is in reference to time. It is in reference to a common aspect that is in line with knowing that at times waiting would translate into elapsing of time. The next symbol would be a mention of rain. In this instance, it can be used to mean sadness. The feeling one has while reading this part makes the reasoning that it could mean sadness more viable. The persona is presented as rubbing glasses. Glasses are worn on someone’s eyes. Most of the literal mean of the eye is the door to the soul. Rain can also be presented as an obstacle to life. The falling rains burr clear sight or may trick someone’s vision into thinking they saw something else entirely. The fact that the persona talks a lot about the brother too much would stand to mean that he loves his brother. The importance of the use of symbolism in this case is to bring clearly out what the poet means
