Anything that affects or poses a threat to the general public health and their quality of life is considered a public health issue. Currently some major public health issues worldwide are: Cardiovascular Diseases, Diabetes, Obesity, HIV, AIDS, Alcohol abuse, Drug abuse, Smoking, Teenage Pregnancy, Gun Violence, Child abuse, Infants mortality rates, Stress, Depression and other psychological disorders etc. Worldwide, currently CVD is the leading cause of death and a major cause of disability and it is also the leading cause of death n United States. CVD is the disease of heart and narrowed blood vessels that includes coronary artery disease, stroke, peripheral artery disease, venous thrombosis, etc. It is common in infants, children, and adults of both sexes and they affect the people of all races and ethnicities. The prevalence increases with advancing age and varies within racial, ethnic, geographic, and socio demographic groups.
As per Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Cardiovascular disease is still by far the leading cause of death and disability in the United States, and it is the leading killer of women and men in the United States (“Heart Disease Facts”). About 610,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year among which Coronary Heart Disease is the most common type of heart disease (“Heart Disease Facts”).
