The United States Veteran Healthcare Association (VHA), consolidated in 1930, today is a one of the largest health care systems in the country. The mission statement for the Veteran Healthcare Association is to “Provide professional care to promote, protect, and restore the health of all who have and shall borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan by serving and honoring the men and women who are America’s veterans,” (U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, 2014). Like many healthcare facilities the Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare utilizes the framework that comes from an overall high-quality product producing directional strategies. Directional strategies provide a framework that focuses on quality care efforts of health care organizations. Therefore, in order for the VHA to continue to grow and expand into the next generation of healthcare the Office of Human Resources is responsible for the strategic management process. With a strong leadership within the Veterans Affairs Office of Human Resources has the potential to transform and modernize the VA’s culture, processes, and capabilities. Under the leadership of the Secretary of the Veterans Affairs and with a strong leadership the Department of Veterans Affairs should process a strong and sustainable future. With key Human Resource Managers from headquarters down to field offices participation the past corrosive culture that has led to personnel problems across the Department and has seriously impacted the morale, and by extension the timeliness of health care will advance, therefore allow for safe and competitive care. Leadership acknowledges that the Office of Human Resource must be committed to open, accurate, and timely communication with not only administration and employees but to the veterans as well. It is important to continually strive to meet or exceed the service delivery expectations of those that we are here to serve. By recognizing this important points the lack of accountability and distrust will mend therefore resulting in an improved experience for the Veterans that we are all her to
