Reflection On The Killer Robot

Introduction
In this report, I’ll be discussing the process of creating and displaying a presentation on The Killer Robot case study, and reflecting on my efforts and development throughout.
The reflective model I have chosen to use is the Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle, as I believe it provides a great straight-forward structure into outlining the process and it assists in highlighting all areas, including the emotions felt during the procedure.

Description
The beginning of this task started out very slowly, as me and my group members had misunderstandings on how to implement and highlight the issues of the case study correctly into our work.
Once we were over this hurdle we took it upon ourselves to split the issues raised

I thought it would be a good idea to write notes for our slides, and provided some small cards if anybody needed them.
Feelings
I had some initial concerns and worries that we wouldn’t succeed in this task, as we had trouble in initiating some true progress on our presentation, which crushed my confidence. The lack of communication during the process (on everybody’s behalf, including myself) wasn’t very assuring either, as I wasn’t so sure on the work done by the others.
My allocated sections of the presentation were coming along nicely, and I had a lot of time left over to ensure my timing was nailed down. Although I had doubts about the other group members I was certain in my own abilities, especially now I could focus on the communication skills that were absent in my initial formative presentation.
When the day of the presentation came around and we met in person, I was relieved in what everyone had produced. They all showed a good understanding of the task, and they had rehearsed their content well. Although, I was disappointed we didn’t have time to provide criticism on one another’s work and create a greater consistency between our slides, which could have made things a little

I think I improved drastically from the formative assessment, and I learned a little bit of preparation can go a long way, especially in terms of confidence. I have never considered myself as confident or able to perform publicly, until this task. It has helped me look at things from a different perspective and I will look back and learn from this experience in future group

We weren’t existed about the presentation until the day we have to present. My teammates were stressed, and I tried to reassure them by saying that we are not the first group to present, if everybody did it, why not us; that even though I have a strong accent such thing will not keep me to present the sessions; We have to do what we have to do and try our best. Every member had to say a positive thing about him or herself. I pointed out to my teammates the need to neutralize the monopolizers, but it ended up that they talked more than the group members.…

Throughout the year, as a class we have been given many different challenges in either the form of an essay, speech, or group presentation. The final assignment given to us was a group project presentation. From growing up in an age filled with technology, I have come to love projects that revolve around making some form of a PowerPoint presentation. This PowerPoint though, was both difficult and interesting for the reasons of being assigned group members not of my own choosing, learning to listen to others ideas which can help me to learn something new, and using former knowledge while working together to create a clean, in depth, and well prepared presentation. With working in groups of students whom I have known since I was young but…

This is where I emailed the leader of my group my part of the work and they put it together with the rest of the presentation. On the group chat, we discussed about the strengths and weaknesses of the work and what we should improve on as a team. When crating the presentations verbal communication was very vital when we spoke face to face. I listened to each others ideas and thoughts as this is an important interpersonal communication skill. I also presented good body language, which shows that I was actively listening.…

We were told that the analysis tools such as SWOT and PEST should be placed on background instead of screen, which we never knew. Also, there are too many words on the screen, which is another problem for us. As the tutor indicates, the speed of reading is always faster than presenting, audiences often lose their focus once they predict what you are going to present. On the other hand, Robert (2013) says the more words on a slide, the smaller the type needs to be, making reading more challenge for audiences. Apart from these, we were pointed out the lack of structure, the content just like several stories without any connection.…

For me, it’s not easy working with others because I like to take ownership of my work. It was a great experience to see the importance of the synergies that were created, as effective division of work and proper communication made a very big project manageable. Also, completely reading the instructions is an important lesson the we learned and can take anywhere. While we were confident about our material in the presentation, we didn’t follow the guidelines well, which hurt us. Trust is a huge part about working in groups, and I gained this trust through interaction with my team members, as well as success early on in the project.…

In the past speech classes I have taken, I never really had an opportunity to work with teammates. To me, this presentation was the easiest for me. All my teammates got together to help support each other and how to improve our presentation. From the past three speeches, I knew what I needed to work on to help me present myself.…
