Matthew 6:19-21 Treasures in Heaven, in these verses Jesus commands us to prioritize heavenly treasures over earthly trinkets. The apostle Paul even indicates that even though you can enjoy the things God has blessed you with What Jesus wants is to prohibit a selfish accumulation of things. Nowadays a selfish accumulation would consist of an extra car, purses, basically an excess of materialistic things that you cannot take with you once you pass away. Jesus specifically noted the words “on earth” Jesus’ main concern in this verse is his people stockpiling unnecessary materialistic stuff here on earth rather than stocking up on treasures in heaven. In other world views they tend to focus on materialism and spend a large quantity of efforts on worshiping money, they set goals to become even wealthier, doing everything they can to be idolized here on earth. Jesus does not want us to have stocked up earthly bank account while your spiritual bank account is carrying a zero balance because you have forgotten to invest where it really matters and that is what you call a poor investment.
