The main difference found between the creation myths of the Iroquois, the Igbos, and the Christian faith are the number of days needed to create the earth. In the Bible, it declares that the earth and humans were created within a seven day period. Each day, it is said that a different aspect of the earth was created. The creation story of the Iroquois fails to specify a time period of the length of time it took for the earth to be composed.…

Genesis says that God created the heavens and the earth, but in the next few verses the distinction is made between the sky and the heavens. This distinction is made when God creates a “vault” to separate the water from the water, which created the sky in between these two sets of water (Genesis 1). In the Native American story the touching of sky and water caused the creation of the First World (Navajo Creation Story). In the Christian tradition the end of God’s six days of creation signified the creation of Earth and of the Garden of Eden (Genesis 1). This is important because both of those locations were considered holy places and were signified as perfect.…

The first of the four creationist beliefs is Strict (“young-Earth”) creationism. This form of creationism fits perfectly in the biblical creationism approach, because they believe in the literal purport of the book of Genesis, in that the universe and everything in it was created roughly six thousand years ago in six days. Along with that, they believe that the great (Noachian) flood killed all the inhabitants of the earth, other than those on the ark (Fitch 40-41). Strict “young-Earth” creationism is the only creationist belief that is in the biblical creationism approach. The second creationist belief, which was popular in the early nineteenth century, is “old-Earth” creationism.…

This is completely different from the Biblical Worldview that states that God created everything. Genesis1:1 “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”. This is saying that God himself began his creations with earth, not that the earth was here and God became part of it. God came first and then everything else followed, not God second or that they both occurred at the same time. It is similar because both worldviews believed a god(s) are behind all creation and destruction.…

Young Earth creationism is the belief where the world was created in 6, 24-hour days, and the age of the world is approximately 6000 years old. The Young Earth creationism uses the great flood to show how it makes sense. Making the world and everything on it young. This ideal that the earth is young is not a new ideal and has been around since between 700 and 735 AD, when a monk by the name of Venerable Bede claimed the creation of the world was in 3952 BC. Many other people have placed the creation in the time frame of 3961 through 4004 BC.…

However, using a bit of logic and some remedial science and some evidence from Scripture, we can posit that the days in the Genesis account were normal days. First, if the days were long periods of time, and the order of creation remains intact, then we would have plants on day 3 and millions (or billions) of years later the Sun, Moon and stars would be formed. Then eons later animals appear. This is a problem for the plants which require light for photosynthesis and animals for carbon dioxide. Evidence from scripture is found in the contextual clues left by the author.…

Creationism is the most obvious choice when people wonder how our earth originated, because it has the most evidence. However, many people believe that evolution is the best answer to the question of how our earth began. Although many people believe in evolution, there is no evidence that has shown to be valid. Furthermore, evolution states that organisms have evolved into the state they are in now, when no intermediate fossil forms have ever been discovered. Lastly, the evolutionary theory has never given any notable evidence explaining or demonstrating the origin of any new species.…
