The environment I was raised in isn’t the place i’ll say shape me as a person but, I will say it made me think outside the box. I was raised in a small city in Mississippi. Probably never heard of it because we aren’t even on the map but I raised in a small city name Indianola and Moorehead. You can easily look it up online, look at picture, and/ or visit. You can easily look at that place and give me a quick glimpse and just know that the small city that you see didn’t completely shape as a person that you see now. If that place completely shaped me as a person you would see a dramatic change in my behavior, manners, and my personality. I would change from a kid who love smiling and laughing to a kid who will be causing and creating chaos, …show more content…
Like I knew i had to smarter than the average bear, when I was in the sixth grade and there was this girl who was in my class and she was sixteen also pregnant. Eventually she dropped out but who knows what happen to her after those miserable days. My family was pretty much my everything to me: my mom, brother, and even friends was considered family. But overall my mom was my family, friend, also my world she means everything to me more than anything or anyone. Believe me I love my family but my mom come before them all. I basically say that because some of my family don’t even act like family sometimes only when they want something or something popped up. Even though my mom didn’t graduate high school she didn’t let that stop her because she know who was watching her me and my little brother. She had to set an example for us and I’m glad because I’m following every steps but I’ll be getting my diploma in 2017 and I’ll set a major example for my little brother. My mom she got her GED and went to college and now she got an excellent job, working at a clinic giving people shots and she enjoy it also that it pay well and we have the things to prove

Our surroundings often shape our personalities and influence our individual qualities. In the nature versus nurture debate, in my opinion, I believe that humans are prone to adapt to the environment they're brought up in; meaning they contain a genetic disposition toward certain characteristics, however, they are revealed differently based on circumstances. They nurture us throughout our childhood and help us enter our adulthood well prepared.…

Spoon River, a small little town full with people who are seen in the light and dark. Unfortunately, I came from a family who was seen in the dark within the public eyes. Yes, growing in in the south, during the 40’s and where seeing cows and farmers was the norm, came with racial situations because both of my parents, Lisa and Marvin Smith, were African Americans educational teachers. My home was very small but was full with love because of my parents were at a point, in their life, where nothing on the outside mattered more than showing each other love, support and raising me to have strength and be prepared for the outside. Growing up was difficult because I wasn’t able to play in certain parks, water fountains and even walking on a different side of the streets.…

My life has been incredibly changed and formed by these people. From my strong Christian family to my best friends and their families to the coaches I had there has always been someone in my life to strengthen my spirit and brighten my day. My family influenced my beliefs and my personality, while my friends and school taught me to be a strong person and be able to defend who I am. What determines Will’s personality – nature or nurture? I believe that nurture (environment) determines Will’s personality after all. In the film, it never talked about his true parents; instead the portrayal of his childhood events resolves the riddle why he carried such personality. Moreover, Freud emphasized that heredity is not enough to structure the personality because developing personality requires environmental effects and takes time to travel along from infancy to elder years with one’s self-determination. What is more, Freud also said that our body size may be greatly determined by biological information inherited by our parents, but our learning experience during childhood is what counts in shaping our personality.…
