The Video that I chose to watch that portrays a personality disorder is Gone Girl. This movie is very recent only coming out in 2014 and is based on a Novel of the same name. It follows the life and Disappearance of Amy Dunne and her husband Nick. The main Antagonist Amy Dunn displays several Requirements for having a personality disorder. She displays symptoms and factors which are common with Anti-Social Personality Disorder and Borderline Personality disorder. Antisocial personality disorder (ASP) or “Psychopath” a term seldom used is one of the more severe personality disorders. This personality disorders have several unique requirements that must be present for someone to be diagnosed with this disorder. Well Amy isn’t satisfied with that she goes on aggressively to destroys his life with her irrational way of thinking. She has done this numerous times in her past to any one she feels has wronged her which means the requirement of repeated law breaking because faking a crime is illegal even though she never gets caught. She also meets the requirement that they have an inflated sense of worth which also means she is a little bit of a narcissist as well. She also exhibits that she is smarter than everybody and she planned the perfect disappearance and doesn’t expect what her husband does in response. Though out the movie gone girl Amy exhibits the trait of manipulation she manipulates the police on to a false crime, She manipulates a Ex boyfriend into hiding her in an isolated house is where she lies and eventually kills him. The research that I have done it appears there is not a difference in anti social in men and woman they both seem to exhibit the same traits the difference comes in the rate of diagnosis. Men are more likely to be diagnosed with the disorder than women are. There are a couple of treatments for people diagnosed with ASP these treatments
