Getting Lost
A Personal Narrative By Hayley Meijndert

Where were we? I didn't even know, we were lost. Well if you want to know here’s why. Zack Brandson and I were sprinting, trying to find our dads after wondering if we could walk back to the campsite. Zack is a cool dude, that is my friend. His dirty blond, long hair blew through the majestic wind while he walked. Also his gray and blue shorts and purple graphic t-shirt was screaming with personality. On our way we saw a big deer and her babies galloping around. Zack decided sarcastically it was a good idea to chase after the deers. The deers looked mad, really mad. They started galloping towards us with a weird look on their faces. The wind was blowing around us, I could hear my dad’s voice, so we started running towards what we could hear in the distance. The deer were chasing after us and they finally stopped, so we caught our breaths.

I was officially afraid of deer. Some people are afraid of spiders or monsters, and I’m afraid of deers! My hands were still shaking vigorously. I wiped my sweaty palms on my rugged black shorts. “We should keep going,” I said. Then we started walking again. Even though we were tired and sweaty from the sun beaming down on us, we kept at a fast walking pace. We finally found my Dad, Derek, Josh and Nick. In case you don’t know; Derek is Zack's dad, Nick is Zack's brother and Josh is my bro. Then Zack asked if we could walk back to the campsite and my dad replied, “No, we will be done really soon.” They were on the 14th hole of disc golfing, so I was chill with that.
