Being A Bystander Essay

Have you ever seen something that was wrong and you kept walking? I have I will not lie it has happened to me many times in my life. Why is that? Maybe because we aren 't educated enough, even because we are scared or people telling you not to do anything? But first, let’s make sure we know what a bystander is. A bystander is someone who is present at an event or incident and does not take part in stopping.
I can tell you my first time I was a bystander and then I realized it was wrong, it happened a year ago and I can remember it like yesterday. Everyone knows that app Snapchat if you do not Snapchat, is that you send a message or short videos to other people who are your friends. I was just flipping through snap chat when I saw this one girl who is a few years older than I and she posted a video about her dog. The video was the dog in a freezer not shut but the girl was taking a video laughing and pushing the dog in the freezer never shutting it. The caption said, “This oil b*tch ate my cord so.” That was the caption in this horrible video. This girl and her sister are always talking about hurting their animals and telling us horrible stories that make you want to make your ears disappear so you do not hear anymore. So I sent my friends the video and we all agreed that we should tell. My mom called me out and I told her about the girl told me “Don’t get involved she probably did it as a joke.” I didn’t show my mom the video so that she can she with her eyes what really happened. I told my friends in the chat that I could not call and they did not either. I asked why and they one girl said she had to shower and the other person never answered. I would have called but I could not my mom said so I can’t disobey her. I still do not know why we never
