In “A&P” by John Updike, I believe it is a sincere classic because it is still relatable in today's society and portrays a young boy named Sammy who experiences the way life actually works beginning at an early age. The story is about the three young teenager girls who walk into the supermarket wearing only their bathing suits where Sammy, young shop worker, notices the girls, especially one in particular named “Queenie,” while also living in two worlds that he is faced with. I believe that the main theme in this passage involves how a normal life is imaginably different when one takes their mind off reality. For example, this is shown in the supermarket with the nonchalant entrance of the three girls. In addition, I would not say it is a beautiful
