Have you ever thought what it would be like if everyone around you was the same. The story A&P, by John Updike, is about a cashier named Sammy that works at the grocery store called A&P. Sammy thinks everyone is the same, comparing them to sheep. When three unique girls come in he gets the motivation he needs so that he doesn’t become just like the rest of the ‘sheep.’ The manager, Lengal starts telling off the girls because they don’t act or dress the same as the other customers, and Sammy quits his job because he doesn’t like that the girls are treated badly because of being different.
