College Admissions Essay: Why I Love You

Improved Essays
Hi baby,
I just wanted to type you a note. I would write it, but I figured a type note would last longer. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you how much I love you. Everything lately has felt so perfect. I feel like I am in a constant day-dream. I know it feels that way to me because I literally day-dreamed about being with you for so long. Now that it is real, I can’t help but realize how blessed I am. I always knew there was something special about you. From the moment I first saw you I was so attracted to you. Then, once I got to know you and met you—I couldn’t get you off my mind. I cannot tell you how many times I told people you were who I was supposed to be with and how I thought you were the man I was supposed to marry. I just kept wondering

The song lyric “I 'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you” is so relevant to how I feel about us. I wish I could take all the time I wasted or have and be able to give it back to you and have that time to be with you. Since I know that is impossible, I want to make every day, minute, second, and so on special and memorable for us. I want every moment to be where we grow together. I love when people ask me about my boyfriend because I could talk about you forever. I am so proud to be your girlfriend! I want every girl to know that you are mine, all mine. There is a reason I keep the journal about us. It’s something I have never done before. I write in it so years from now we can look back at it and remember different times we may have forgotten. I want to document our lives and keep it going for as long as we are together. Maybe one day, when we are gone from this world, someone else will find our love story and read it. Maybe one day the life we had, that is and will be full of love, will inspire someone else to fall in love. I have read countless love stories. I have heard countless love songs. I have watched countless love movies. But, through everything—the love I have shared with you will always

It fuckin' kills me inside. I wanted to be with you so much that it hurt, and you made me feel things I never thought I would again. Whenever I talk to you I have so much motivation, you inspire me to want to be so much more than I am, to be so much better of a person, not for me but for you. The shit part is that it's a catch twenty two, because I can't chase the life I want with you if I'm saving up for a whole year working in a fuckin' cafe just to try and see you for a month. But at the same time I can't not see you while I'm trying to get enough qualifications so I can have any form of a future.…

The first time we really hung out, was at Tanin’s house. On the way to Burger King I laid on your lap listening to L$D and Slip as you played with my hair and looked into my eyes. I knew we would start the first day of the rest of our lives that night. When we got into our room for the night, I wanted you to hold me in your arms forever. Then you kissed me.…

So now, Thomas, I am writing back to your letter I received on the day I graduated High School. Unfortunately, the letter was a year too late. In the following six months after I told you goodbye in January, I found happiness in myself and met someone new. I appreciate your letter explaining your actions over the past year and how sorry you are, and I accept your apology. I appreciate you telling me now that you loved me then and still do now, but I’m afraid I no longer love you, and telling me you love me in a letter wont change my mind.…

Growing up I was always afraid of saying the wrong thing, this often times would lead me to instead not say anything. I always thought this was better than saying the wrong thing, up until I was 16 years old and found out the opposite to be true. As a 16 year old girl as you could imagine I wasn’t the happiest person in the world, there were a lot of days when depression clouded my thoughts and that ended up being the only thing that would even be a thought in my head. This would be one of those days, I had just gotten close to my new best friend, Megan.…

Growing up is was no question whether or not I was going to college, it was an automatic yes for me. No one had to ever ask me if I was going to college because they all knew that the answer is yes. The reason why I knew that I had to go to college was because everyone in my family went to college; now don’t just think that because everyone in my family went to college that we are a bunch of rich snobs. We have all been hit with the reality of struggles in life. That’s why I learned quickly that you don’t just go to college so you can get a better education you have to be able to do something with that education.…

I’m thankful for what we have and I hope it just gets stronger. Thank you for always being there for me, thank you for being my comfort and listening to me through my angry rants and sadness, thank you for the advice and the continues protection, thank you for baring with my sometimes moodiness, thank you for holding me when I cry and wiping my tears away even when I’m being oversensitive or crying over something small like me not wanting you to go to school for the day cause I’ll be bored. There’s so much more but overall thank you for being “the kid Vido” I continue to fall in love with and I cherish every moment and memory we have…

I braced myself every moment since you said those words for the hurt that would come. It was inevitable, and the dread resided in a distant place in my mind, preparing my body to implode the moment our love parted. I almost felt it the night of graduation. Our merry band of friends attended your commencement ceremony, and we cheered for you with all the oxygen in our lungs. I was so proud to see you succeed.…

It is often said that teenagers begin discovering themselves in high school, but I did the opposite- I lost myself. The source of my pleasure and delight shifted from books to parties, writing to boys, and video-games to my social life. Something within me desperately craved to be normal- to no longer be the girl that gets harassed and ostracized for being an “appalling nerd” and because of this, vital aspects of my personality began to change and I morphed into an entirely different person. Through this journey, I learned that my self-hate was a catalyst for self-love and appreciation. Having always been considered an unusual girl in the eyes of my peers, I'd never been truly comfortable in my skin.…
