As the end of winter break approaches, I still don’t have all my money for next semester. My mom tells me she is working on it. I learned a valuable lesson that day. The lesson is that everyone is not meant to stay in life; sometimes it’s best if you let them go. I over heard my mom speaking to my father, she was asking him for money so it helps with my college expenses, but I could see the frustration on her face. My father wasn’t really the type to contribute to anything, but he was there all my life. So after a phone call full of excuses, my mom knew that she wasn’t getting any help with this bill. So I took upon myself to call my father, tell him exactly how I felt for a long time. I told him about himself and how he never did anything for me, so the least he can do is pay for some college fees. The decisions might be good or bad, little or small, she wants me to become comfortable with making life changes. There will come a day when she won’t be there to do it for me. I’m beginning to become an adult, and her giving me more freedom to make my own choices is just the first step into adulthood. As for the second experience, my mom was always motivating me to do better, but it was different this time, which made it special. Her motivating to do better in school wasn’t just for me, but it was for her too. I have high expectations for myself and I have to get through school to achieve them. I want to be successful to put a smile on her face, and she won’t give up on me until I achieve this mission. This is the reason why I take education so seriously. The last experience showed me that my mom wants me to grow up and start seeing the world as it is. Also in this world, everyone is not really meant to stay in your life and they have to be removed. My mom wanted me to see this especially with my father, because sometimes it just has to happen in order to live a
