A neurosurgeon is described as a medical doctor who specializes in the nervous system, brain, spinal cord, and muscles. They are surgeons who withstand eight to fifteen hours or more treating areas that need medical attention. An article from “Life NPH” states, “After four years of medical school and an internship program, the doctor enters a neurosurgical residency program of five to seven years” (Life NPH). There is four years of general education, along with your major. After receiving a four-year, one shall seek into six to eight years or residency and then obtain a license for the practice of medicine. It is well known that becoming a neurosurgeon requires education and vast amount of knowledge. One of the disadvantages of becoming a neurosurgeon is how meticulous and demanding the work is. Is having a heart for these patients worth risking your time and breath when you do lose your career because of one little mistake if it does so ever happen?
