A Narrative Essay On John Deere Tractor

The world is full of many professions which each have their own upsides and downsides. Some require tedious work and long hours, others require short hours with relative laid back work. Another possibility is meeting in the middle of these two polar opposites, such as the field of farming. It requires dedication and long hours of semi laid back work load. My own grandfather chose this as his life long profession and made his own successful lifestyle out of it. In an interview with my grandfather, I got the chance to further explore this profession he has put his life and efforts into as well as discover a few of its upsides and downsides.
Pulling up to the field my grandfather was planting in, I could see his green 8283 John Deere tractor heading back toward my end of the field. As the tractor reached my end and he slowed to a stop, I hurried to close the distance to the him. I could see his mustard yellow shirt, blue jeans, and red ball cap becoming apparent through the glass as I neared and hopped onto the steps to the cab. After securely closing the door after me, I was enveloped in an enthusiastic welcome and a vast smile breaking out across his face as his eyes lit up underneath his square rounded glasses. I knew farming was taking chance on nature. I also knew starting up would not be easy by any measure in the beginning. However, I did not realize the amount of money required for starting up a farm. Nor did I realize to live on two paychecks would have such a powerful impact in one’s life. Looking at these factors and this line of work, it would take time, dedication, and require conformity to become successful and make a living out of this
