A Narrative Essay On A Homeless Person

I could feel my heart beat a bit faster as I thought about the many reactions she could have for what I am about to tell her. Mustering all of my strength I get her attention. "Hey Nana..." My voice sounds quiet and quivers a bit. Picking up on that, my Nana turns and gives me her full attention. "What is it honey?" She says giving me a warm smile that always makes me feel safe and happy. "I wanted you to be the first one to know..." This was stretching the truth a bit because my friends already know what I am going to say, along with my mother, but I hoped this would lighten the load. "I am pansexual." I paused after speaking and watched her expression change from neutral to confusion. "I can develop crushes on anyone, regardless of their gender, I like their personality over what they are defined as." My voice shakes as I explain this, my hands fidget with the bracelet on my wrist, I look up at her and she smiles. "You are an amazing young woman, I will support anything you believe in." She pulls me into a loving hug and I hide my face in her chest, smiling. "Thank you Nana."

Moments like these can be terrifying because the outcome is always unknown. But once it is over with, you feel a weight be lifted off your shoulders and you can finally be happy with who you really are. This was my defining moment where I came to terms with who I am in life, and that I am grateful to have my family

Fixing Child Homelessness in America Homelessness is an awful plague that hurts and puts a strain on the entire world.
