Uncontrolled Caroline was a unique individual. There was no one else like her in the world, or so she believed. She felt alone, since no one understood what she went through. She was different. Her parents called it a miracle, a gift. Caroline called it a curse. Caroline’s powers often became too much to handle. They were dramatically intense, and she felt as though she wouldn’t ever be able to keep them locked away. She hated the heavy burden that her powers forced onto her. It was a rainy morning. Caroline could easily have changed the weather with a flick of her wrist, but she enjoyed the rain. The calm sound of it kept her sane. Since Caroline was a senior in high school, she could drive her three siblings to school, given they all went to the same school. The twins, Carly and Catelyn, were quick to fight over shotgun. Caroline just rolled her eyes and tossed her brother, Chris, who was a year older than the twins, the car keys so he could get the shotgun spot for himself. Caroline drove off and the second she pulled into the school parking lot, she could hear the groans of the twins. After they got out of the car, all of the siblings went their separate ways, except Carly, who followed close behind Caroline. Caroline, being oblivious to the fact that Carly was right behind her, stopped short in her tracks so she could talk to her friend. Carly didn’t pick up on what was happening, so she bumped into Caroline, causing her to fall over. “Carly!” Caroline exclaimed, but she could hardly hear herself over Carly’s cries. Caroline knew that she could easily help Carly with her powers, but she also knew that using them would expose her. However, the stares from all the other students in the crowded cafeteria were the last on her mind. Without thinking, she quickly used her magic to heal Carly, and Carly immediately stopped
