A Modest Proposal
For preventing the obese children in the United States from becoming a misfortune to society and their families, and allowing for higher aspirations in their lives
A child eating his way to death. Shoving fistful after fistful of food into his mouth, more than he can handle. Continuing this day after day, year after year is certain for death. He gains so much weight, that he is almost unable to raise his arms, but the satisfaction of eating food is worth the struggle. At 40 years of age, he finally falls over, undergoing a heart attack. His life ends; everyone he knew waited for the day his heart would finally give out.
There is a clear way to solve this issue and save an obese person's life. If a child is obese or under threat of obesity, his or her arms will be cut off. This will allow the child to initially lose 20 pounds, and possibly more depending on how much the child weighs. Then, these children will be unable to easily put food into their mouths, decreasing overall food consumption. After these children's arms are cut off, the arms will be sent to African countries to feed starving families there. Firstly, cutting of children's arm will decrease overall weight. This would automatically reduce risk of heart attack caused by obesity. Secondly, this will inhibit them from overfeeding themselves. Thirdly, the weight of these children will decrease from the loss of food consumption. Fourthly, the children's arms will be fed to African children to increase their weight. This will lead to a decrease in overweight American children and underweight African children as
