Immigration is a current political issue that has people on divided sides. A Modest Proposal is a story mocking the rich attitude toward the poor. The author proposes that the poor should use their children to sell as food of or the teenagers for slavery to the rich. Immigration is connected to this story because there are people that severely disagree with the actions of our president in deporting immigrants. The government cannot efficiently support the legal citizens when illegals come in because they are stealing from the American people. In the story, the author points out that the poor cannot support themselves and they are a burden on society and something needs to be done. The issue of immigration is similar to the one in the story
