Tabor The tabor is a miniature snare drum that is played along with the pipe by one musician. It created the “one-man band” of the Elizabethan Era. It is made of a tall, skinny body, and two drumheads, which were made from the skin of animals. The tabor is also commonly called the, tabour, tarbet, and taber. The word tabor is derived from the Latin word “drum.” Considered a loud volume instrument, the tabour was only suitable for outdoor play.
