I have mixed feelings about Elbert Hubbard's A Message to Garcia. I believe his intention is to highlight the value of individuals that will work hard to complete tasks absent of micro-management, and with that I wholeheartedly agree. However, in a few sections his passion raises to such an extreme as to be detrimental to the task the individual is trying to accomplish. If I am sent to complete a task, having all of the pertinent information at the start will help me complete the task more efficiently. I don't believe that it shows weakness of character to request more information, providing that it is necessary to complete the task.

I also don't necessarily agree with his remark about the men "whose working hours are not limited by the
