Since he was kicked out of the tournament his teammates forfeited the tournament so Dondre didn’t feel left out. Dondre was kind of happy that his teammates forfeited the match for him, but he thought it was unfair for the club to do that just because of his race. He was honored to have a team that would do something like that for him.
While Dondre was giving his speech Clifton Davis, a person in the audience, was having a flashback of a time when he went to Washington DC on a fieldtrip to a theme park. When they were at a hotel the chaperone told Clifton he couldn't go to the theme park because of the Mason-Dixon Line. When the chaperone told him that he couldn't go he told his friend Frank Miller. When he told Frank, Frank didn't want to go anymore and neither did the other kids in his class. Clifton was happy that all his friends wouldn't go because he couldn't go. So instead of going to the theme park they went to a movie
