One example is that Raina and Amara are left behind in the car while Will and mom find help. Once the car was fixed, on the trip home, Amara finally realizes that her sister has always been there for her when she is sad or alone, (Telgemeier 170-192). This proves that the theme in the book Sisters is that a family is always there whenever there is a problem so spend time with them now and not later because once a sibling grows up, they will realize that their own family, not a friend, that is there for them when they are sad. If it was a friend, they are not there always when you need help, it is the family that lives with you that can help. Another example is when Raina always tries to spend time with her sister, Amara, but her sister keeps ignoring her, (Telgemeier 16-24). This proves that the theme in the book Sisters is that a family is always there when there is something bothering their family so spend time the first priority because, in the book Sisters, Raina always spends time with her sister whenever she sees that Amara is alone.
