Hamlet, Prince of Denmark is pressed by his dead father’s wandering Ghost to take revenge for his assassination at the hands of the departed king’s brother, the now King Claudius; and to make the problems worse, Claudius has decided to marry the widow, Queen Gertrude, who is Hamlets mother. Even more matters arise; Denmark is now under a threat of an attack from Fortinbras, who tries and seeks out to try to recover the lands that were lost by Fortinbras’s father to Hamlets. Claudius tries to send terms to the King of Norway (Fortinbras uncle) to at least try and control Fortinbras’s resentment. The King told Polonius his plan to transmit Hamlet to England with Guildenstern and Rosencrantz, childhood friends of Hamlet. Hamlet grasps a chance presented by a nomadic troupe of actors to expose the King’s guiltiness with a play within a play. After that, Hamlets delays in slaying Claudius only because Claudius is sitting at prayer, and Hamlet doesn’t want to send him to heaven instead of hell. When Gertrude met with Hamlet as Claudius has said, while this is going on Polonius is behind the drapery in Gertrude’s room to overhear the discussion. Hamlet finally escapes, proceeds to Denmark, and is seen by Horatio. Ophelia has become insane after her father’s passing and Hamlet’s leaving. Laertes returns to Denmark and promises to avenge Polonius’s demise.
