"half of life is showing up", my father always said that to me, when I was growing up it took me eight years but I finally understand what he had been trying to teach me, and that lesson changed me. After spending a month at Marist College, I have come to the conclusion that my father, Sean Coughlin has made a significant impact on both my life and helped make me the independent man that I am today. My father was the oldest of his 5 siblings, and was the first Coughlin to both attend and graduate College. His family was not a rich one, The Coughlins' were a poor Irish family that came over to the United States generations ago, and had a proud history of service. Groups that have the highest degree of cohesiveness are Molen/family and college friends. Within these groups, I feel that I am bound to these members with a strong attraction because these groups are whom I feel closest to, most comfortable with, and I am more attached to them. I believe that Molen/family is the most functional group because within that group, we all have social roles that cooperate with each other and spread positivity. Despite that fact that we argue and disagree a lot, at the end of the day, there will always be unconditional love.…

If I were to describe the particular body of ideas that makes me who I would have to point first to the speech from William Shakespeare’s As You Like it Act II, Scene VII, “All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts” (Shakespeare, n.d.). This corresponds with Stets and Burke (1998) assumption that an individual’s sense of self is reflexive. Rather, it can be identified as an object…
