“It seems the more we talk the less I have to say, let's put our differences aside, I wanted to make you proud but our differences got in the way” is being sung in the opening strophe of the song Good Enough by Lifehouse. This opening part of the song shows a strong emottion that not only teeenagers, but also adults suffer from, even more, they want to prove to someone that is very important to them that they're more than what they really think they are. The song says that it is sometimes impossible to be anything but yourself. Most people have an overwhelming amount of anxiety from demanding themselves to be someone that they are not, likewise; this sinking feeling comes from trying to make someone proud that they care and love about most. Lastly, as the song Good enough comes to a wrap the lead singer sings a line that shows that he has overcome the feeling of not being good enough by singing “ what do I have to do to try to make you see trying to be like you isn't good enough for me”. This quote shows that you eventually envision being like someone else isn't what you are supposed to be. Generality has a purpose in this world. In that case, a person needs to try to be the best person they can be for themselves. Jann Wenner stated “being yourself is one of the greatest things you can possibly do. Being true to yourself.” We all known sometimes it's hard to stick to just being yourself when most people just want to fit in. Heeding to yourself and being who you are will get you where you are meant to be even if that's not being like your parents, older siblings or immediate family.
