Toni Smith’s article “A leader is more than a messenger” makes me wonder many things. Why is it that big of a deal to salute our flag if it is the country you are in? Why is she against it? Is she just trying to make a point that everyone can have their own opinion? I was a little irritated that throughout her article she never once explained as to why she turned away from the flag. What is her reasoning? Does she have a strong opinion or is she just doing it for attention and the shock value. If she feels so strongly about turning away from the flag, then why doesn’t she explain her reasoning in this article.
