When Langston wrote this article he was telling a story about a time in his life when he felt terrible about himself and started to question his religious beliefs. In Salvation Langston is under the impression that you must actually see God to come to him. Making a change in the world for the health care provided to Jehovah’s Witnesses didn’t become so personal until recently. My cousin who is a Jehovah’s Witness as well passed away last month after being put on the waiting list for liver transplant. She got sick two weeks before, but really didn’t think anything of it until she started having sharp stomach pain and was having trouble walking. She and her husband went to the hospital that night, there they tried to give her a blood transfusion, but since we do not accept blood as Jehovah’s Witnesses she refused to take it. The hospital they were at in Austin couldn’t assist her any further so they transferred her to the hospital down here in Katy where things started to take a turn for the worse.…

Being part of such a small community while heightening my sense of being has also made me more appreciative and understanding of other cultures & groups. For me understanding others has become a key component in understanding myself. My community has also enabled me to be a better communicator- as often times questions are asked regarding my ethnicity and religion where I can act as a spokesperson for the…

I am a non-practicing religious, more spiritual, person. I decided for my service learning project to interview someone who is practicing from the same religious background that I came from. Even though I grew up taught religion by my Catholic mother, I was never truly practicing. Even with this I found many similarities to a practicing Christian. I chose to interview because I was curious about how my non-practicing views meshed with someone from the same religion who is much more read in it.…

With the family surnames of Rasmussen and Anderson it is clear that the beginnings of my Family of Origin are mainly Danish, so describing my family as a taco might be shocking. Both, my family and a taco are structurally cohesive. (Olson, 2000) We have boundaries, yet we aren’t enmeshed. Often the ingredients try to slip out of the tortilla and some ingredients can be eaten without anything added or taken away from them, such as cheese.…

In this paper I will attempt to discuss and articulate the characteristics and consistency of a biblical worldview. In addition, I will also attempt to contrast the characteristics and consistency of 3 other worldviews that we have been previously examined in this course. Now before one can even begin discussing the characteristics of a worldview, we must first attempt to define what a world view is and whether or not a worldview is applicable to all. The Free Dictionary defines worldview as “The overall perspective from which one sees and interprets the world”…
