The purpose of this Integrated Leadership Project (ILP) is to demonstrate the instruction that was learned in this course, how it was integrated and applied in the various areas of organizational leadership. The ILP was an endeavor that was undertaken throughout the program and each chapter represents an overview of the important concepts of each course that were important to me. The following chapters act as a chronicle of the changes in my concept of organizational leadership. I will attempt to demonstrate my definition of leadership, and my critical understanding of organizational leadership principles with applications of leadership principles. I will also attempt to demonstrate professional, and spiritual changes that occurred throughout the course as well as biblical leadership principles.
Leadership Definition and Worldview
My definition of leadership is the continuing process that persuades followers by vision and example, which influences them to willingly follow based on their mutual purposes. My definition of leadership, which is strongly influenced by Joseph Rost, is based on my belief that leadership is an ongoing process that must continue throughout the life of the mission and perhaps beyond if the vision is properly passed on. Good leaders use non-coercive means to persuade their followers, such as vision and personal example and are based on the common purposes among them.
